Better than ever, our Offshore Angler® Frigate® II Spinning Reel is a masterpiece of design, performance, and rock-solid durability. This versatile warrior is built on an all-aluminum frame, with a lightweight carbon fiber-reinforced composite rotor on the 3000–6000 models, and a rugged A360 aluminum rotor on 7000–8000 models. A specially-formulated, American-made Ocean Silk™ lubricant coats the interior to handle the rigors of saltwater fishing. The Frigate II's spool is forged and double-anodized, with a braid grip arbor to create traction and prevent slippage when tying braided line directly to the spool—no backing needed. Inside, the stainless steel main shaft with brass and zinc alloy gearing comprise a tough and durable core; our 8-bearing system imparts ultra-smooth and stable performance, and includes Powerlock™ instant anti-reverse. Our carbon fiber and PTFE drag stack slows hard-charging game fish with firm, silky pressure, and the machined, anodized aluminum handle provides the leverage needed to defeat big, aggressive fighters.
